SOAVE CRU

SOAVE CRU

Wine is the result of a complex biological process derived from the profound interaction between the vine and its environment. The variety is a genetic entity, generally represented by one or just a few subjects, perfectly adapted to a territory.  Here, we go into detail about the peculiarities of the most prized geographical areas within the Soave denomination that have the potential to produce or are already producing renowned fine wines. These areas, called U.G.A., cover roughly 38% of the 7.000 hectares of vineyards.

A body of research spanning over 15 years culminated in the determination of 33  “Unità Geografica Aggiuntiva” or Additional Geographical Units.  Each area is a pondered synthesis of wines, history and terroir. These geographical areas form the foundation to begin the identification and labeling of the single-cru vineyards. Click on the map to discover their unique characteristics.
